The Beverly Conservation Land Trust (BCLT) is a private, nonprofit, tax exempt organization dedicated to promoting conservation, land use planning, creative land protection and public education about natural resources. The Trust preserves the natural resources of the City of Beverly, Massachusetts for the enjoyment of the public and for education, aesthetic and ecological purposes.

About half of Beverly land is still in a natural state as forests, fields, wetlands, and beaches. Our protected parks and natural areas are a main contributor to the high quality of life in the city. Over 2000 acres of open land in Beverly are privately held and could be developed in the future. Development pressure is intense. The Beverly Conservation Land Trust is a voice for protecting land of the highest conservation value in Beverly. By educating the public, raising funds, and partnering with the city’s Open Space and Recreation Committee and with other land trusts, BCLT provides an alternative to developing remaining open spaces.

The BCLT is a new organization “staffed” by volunteers. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at the Beverly Public Library and welcome interested individuals who wish to contribute time, energy and resources! As BCLT grows, so will the content of this site. Check back!
